Canton's Annual Holiday Hustle
Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016 6 pm
A fun way to get your holiday season off to a healthy start at Canton's Holiday Hustle, a 5K trek through historic Canton, MS! The scenic loop course takes you through the beautiful Canton Square decorated with thousands of lights, and provides just the right challenge for both beginners and experienced runners and walkers.
The post-race celebration (held at the Cotton Gin) will include food, music and Santa giving out awards. All participants receive a Holiday themed long sleeve race shirt. Starts at the Historic Canton Train Depot.
This 5K Run/Walk and the 1 mile Reindeer Trot are presented by Canton Academy. Click here for race information and to register.

10th Annual Canton's Sip N' Cider
Friday, Dec. 9, 2016 4 pm - 8 pm
Each store around the Canton Square will be preparing and serving their own special blend of hot cider to shoppers (most merchants will also serve up delightful and tasty Christmas treats for the shoppers.) Shoppers will sample and vote for the store with the best hot cider. Info.: (601) 859-5816.

This bi-annual event attracts over 1,000 superior artists and craftsmen, to showcase their handcrafted items, all within walking distance of the Historic Canton Square (that houses the Madison County Courthouse. )
This award winning event has been deemed "Best of the Best of Mississippi" by Mississippi Magazine and a "Top Twenty Event in the Southeast" by the Southeast Tourism Society.

New Location...The Farmers Market is held each Saturday at The Old Gin (just a couple of blocks from the Canton Square) on 436 W. Peace Street at the RR Tracks.
Each week local farmers feature fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, plants and fresh eggs.

Children's Art Classes - Pottery & Painting
Saturday, September 17 (Pottery: 10 am- Noon) (Painting: 1:30-3:30 pm)
These two introductory level workshops for kids (ages 5-14) will be led by local artist Sandy Webb from Brandon.
Workshop 1 - PINCHED POTTERY Kids will experience a great way to create pottery that has a nice, organic look to it. Kids will enjoy the interactive nature of this class that will have them create a couple of their own special pieces.
Workshop 2 - PAINT IT YOUR WAY Pick a small wood cross and a small canvas (8 x 10) to paint it your way. While painting they will learn some valuable insights and techniques that will unleash their creativity. Kids will enjoy the interactive nature of this class where they create their own special pieces.
Cost: $19 per class per person, supplies are included. Discount: $5 per child if they attend both classes. Seating is limited. Moms are welcomed to assist younger students. Reserve your child's spot by Thursday, September 15. Refreshments & snacks will be provided. The classes will be held at The Emporium. Call (601) 667-3670 to reserve a spot.
